Volunteers make SAS support of the arts possible. There are many different volunteer opportunities and each is critical to the success of our Events. This is a great chance to get involved in the Community, meet new friends and help make this another great Season. See what interests you…
Performing Arts Concerts
Pre-performance
o Help prepare mailings (stuff envelope with material and affix address labels); 1-2 times per Season
o Serve on Publicity Committee
o Help develop and implement a promotional campaign
o Place publicity in newspapers / magazines for SAS Events
o Promote SAS to businesses, Chambers of Commerce meetings, Local Trade Shows, etc.
o Maintain SAS history in SAS Scrapbook
o Distribute posters and brochures to various businesses in the area before each performance (and Round-up)
o "Meet the Artist" Reception
o Contact and engage caterers / restaurants to prepare and serve food for a performance
o Host the caterer to assist with set-up and clean up.
For performance
o Staff registration table for 1 or more performances – need 2 volunteers / performance
o Check in RSVP's and other guests
o Serve as “host” for the Artists at a performance
o Ensure they have water and answer any questions they may have throughout the evening
o Assist setting up for sale the Artist's CD's
Arts Round-up
o Staff the front gate of the SAS annual Arts Round-up.
o Help with ground preparation for the annual SAS Arts Round-up.
o Serve on a Round-up Committee--everything from publicity, distributing posters and card announcements, to announcing musicians, to recruiting sponsors!
Community Outreach
Assist SAS with identifying grant opportunities and preparing grants to support our arts education programs in the public schools.
